Well, it's not exactly a problem if you didn't scan something yourself; most people don't from what I can see. It doesn't necessarily get deleted. All you have to do is choose 'Not My Scan' next to the 'Scan Source' box when you click on 'Upload Scan'.
The only thing I can advise you is to check first if the scan you're uploading isn't a double - that is, if an identical scan doesn't already exist in the gallery. In that case, it gets deleted. Everything else - the quality of the scan, the size, etc. depends on the Scan Mods - Fenafir and Madoshi.
